Adding A GoDaddy Domain

In order to connect your domain registered through GoDaddy with your ClickFunnels account, you’ll first need to add the proper CNAME record. This article will show you how to add a CNAME record within your GoDaddy account.

Prior to getting started, you will need to have the following:

Follow the steps below to setup your GoDaddy domain or subdomain

Step 1:
Add your CNAME record to GoDaddy

  1. Log in to your GoDaddy account.
  2. Click on the domain you want to work with, then click on Domain.

  3. Click on Manage DNS.

  4. If a CNAME with the Name www exists, edit the record by clicking the pencil icon to the right of the record.
  5. If a CNAME with the Name www doesn't exist, click on Add New Record.

  6. Type: CNAME
    Name: www
    TTL is set by default.
    And Click on Save

  7. To add a Forwarding Rule, click the Forwarding tab, then click on Add Forwarding.

Important Note: DNS servers can sometimes take up to 48 hours to update your CNAME record, though it typically takes not more than a few hours.

  8. Under Forwarding, select https://

  9. Enter in the field to the right (replacing the portion with your actual domain).
  10. Under Forward Type, select Permanent (301).
  11. Select Update my Nameservers and DNS settings if presented as an option.
Warning: If you see a warning here that reads “We will update name servers if you aren’t currently with us”, please note that if you proceed with these changes, your domain will be managed again via GoDaddy. This means that your domain is currently being managed elsewhere, and by saving these changes, you will remove management from whatever external service you are using.
  12. Click Save.

Step 2: Add your domain to ClickFunnels

  1. From your ClickFunnels Dashboard hover over the main menu on the top right-hand corner and select Account Settings.
